Carrie cheated on her partner. She wanted to tell him the truth, but she did not know how. When he told her that he thought flaws were the best part of women, she came close to telling him. "I have something I have to tell you.." She looked at him, and saw the way he looked at her. She suddenly could not say the words, knowing that he would never look at her that way again, if she did. So, she said, "I love you."Though I cannot relate to this cheating situation, I can certainly relate to the way she avoided saying what she originally wanted to say. Since when has "I love you" become an avoidance strategy, when it seems like anti-avoidance itself?
